DirectX12 Beta now available

  • We are thrilled to announce that after almost a year of work, 4Vision is finally getting a major performance update.

The entire rendering engine has been completely reworked to match modern industry standards, utilizing many techniques to improve performance, especially in high intensity situations.

On top of that, we will introduce DirectX 12 as the new rendering API, which, in addition to further improved performance and a more stable frame rate, opens new doors for modern graphic elements to be added in the future. As you can see, we have decided to skip DirectX in version 11 entirely in order to implement the latest and arguably most powerful graphics API available, which not only provides a better basis for improvements, but is also much more future-proof.

We will initially release this update as an alternative client for a beta period to fix any issues that may arise. Once this update goes live, though, support for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 will be discontinued. Please make sure to upgrade to Windows 10 or Windows 11 and get the latest graphics drivers for your system.

Below you can find a little sneak peek, namely a comparison on a performance test map with many NPCs, effects, objects, etc.
